Walking into Harvard prose
After a busy morning at work, I came to Zhongguancun Book Building alone after work.

I was wandering in the sea of books when I suddenly heard the loudspeaker say that at 1: 30 in the afternoon, the lecture "Endless Harvard" was held in the multi-function hall on the fifth floor. The speaker is Professor Zhang Hua from Beijing Language and Culture Institute, and the author of Reading Harvard. Look at the time, just in time, the opportunity is rare, so happy.

I took the elevator to the fifth floor, and the multi-function hall was already full of people. Sit down quietly and the lecture will start on time. Professor Zhang Hua is very young, and his attitude is amiable. While showing slides, he talked slowly about the campus, architecture, surrounding environment and customs of Harvard University. ...

I was so fascinated that I forgot the passage of time. What I envy and yearn for most is college life, but it has nothing to do with it. Although I went to an adult university, I was not the same as a full-time student. I came to work in Beijing after being laid off, and I ran to the university whenever I had leisure, so I could feel the atmosphere in the university. Peking University, Tsinghua University ... Every corner is familiar. Watching students study hard under the green trees, or hiding under the window of the classroom to listen to the teacher, I have a special taste in my heart.

Through Professor Zhang's explanation, I learned about the world-class Harvard University. Those orange-red teaching buildings, dormitory buildings, a library donated by a mother to commemorate her son who died in the Titanic incident, and a museum without fakes. Professor Zhang also showed some interesting photos, which let me know about Harvard University from some details. At Harvard, there is no racial discrimination. From the photos I showed, I learned that a girl from China is the president of the student union in the graduate headquarters. Harvard is not mercenary, it will provide scholarships for every talented student. Harvard has world-class professors and scholars. ...

Professor Zhang also talked about some academic issues. For example, there is an anthropology professor at Harvard who thinks that anthropology is to study the fate of ordinary people. I quite agree with this view. The experience of great men belongs to politics, and politics is bound to be biased and prejudiced. The fate of little people is the truest portrayal of human beings.

Referring to the environmental protection issues that everyone cares about, Professor Zhang said that people's daily needs are actually very few. The scientific way of life should be simple, simple again, and only take what you really need, instead of being greedy and occupying too much. He said that the main color of Harvard University buildings may change from orange red to green to remind people to pay attention to environmental problems and advocate returning to nature. Harvard University, like other vibrant universities, has its own distinctive features and constantly changes itself with the progress of society.

I first saw the emblem of Harvard University. There are three books on it. According to Professor Zhang, the original three books on the school badge were not opened, but I don't know when they were opened again, which is very meaningful. I carefully looked at the emblem of Harvard, and the three books were placed like a person with two eyes and one mouth. Doesn't the world of books reflect the past of human beings and bear the present and future of human beings?

I also heard some things that made people laugh. For example, before the big exam, some students will streaking in school with the help of the band in order to release psychological pressure; A headmaster was coaxed out of office for saying that women were born inferior to men in scientific research; There are also homosexuals snuggling together by the lake, and the school has no objection. The nearby church will also hold weddings for homosexuals. ...

Two hours passed unconsciously, and Professor Zhang ended his wonderful lecture. I reluctantly walked out of the multi-function hall and relished what I saw and heard, which really benefited me a lot. Although I didn't enter the university campus, I will learn about the university through various channels. I have always believed that the treasure house of knowledge will be open to anyone who longs for it. Especially now that we have entered the network age, the ivory tower of knowledge no longer exists. Without entering the university, we can still learn what we learned in the university.

Thanks to Professor Zhang Hua and Zhongguancun Book Building.
