Guangxi Normal University, referred to as "Guangxi Normal University", is located in the world-famous scenic city of Guilin. Approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it was selected into the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions, the national postgraduate program for building high-level universities, the "national training program" and the "excellent teacher training program" of the Ministry of Education.

The school can be traced back to the provincial Guangxi University founded by 1928 and the Guangxi Provincial Teachers College founded by 1932. Provincial Teachers' College 1936 merged, 1939 was renamed as National Guangxi University, and the former Guangxi University 1953 was closed, and some teachers and teachers' professional courses were in its College of Culture, Education and Science. 1983 was renamed Guangxi Normal University.
