Guangdong Open University has an internship credit system. Only after completing the required credits can you graduate and receive a school diploma. The minimum length of study for a two-year undergraduate major is two and a half years. Student status is valid for eight years from the date of admission.

Learners registered with professional qualifications complete the required credits, pass the graduation examination, are granted graduation, and are awarded the undergraduate diploma of Guangdong Open University or the junior college diploma that meets the conditions for degree granting, and are awarded the bachelor's degree and degree certificate of Guangdong Open University.
