The predecessor of China Metrology University was Hangzhou Metrology College founded by the State Administration of Metrology on 1978, renamed as Metrology College on 1984, upgraded to Ji Liang University in China on 1985 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, and renamed as China Metrology University on 20 16. By 2022, China Ji Liang University will be ranked as 13 1 in China University of Soft Science in 2022.

The school has 19 colleges (departments, centers), 2 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 15 first-level disciplines authorized by master degrees, 1 first-level disciplines authorized by master degrees,1first-level disciplines jointly established by provinces and cities, and 65,438 first-level disciplines in Zhejiang Province. There are 1 national specialty comprehensive reform pilot specialty, 19 provincial first-class specialty, 7 provincial dominant specialty and 12 provincial characteristic specialty.
