The sixth machinery department is responsible for shipbuilding industry, warship weapons and equipment, marine engineering, marine development and nuclear power equipment. The name of Wuhan University of Shipbuilding Technology is the function of the Sixth Machinery Department. The origin of our school can be traced back to the Central South Military Engineering Institute founded by the Central South Military Engineering Bureau, which is the first military college established in New China and a secondary specialized technical college.
1953, the school was renamed Wuhan Machinery Factory, directly under the Second Hospital. 1970 The school was cancelled and changed to a factory, Wuhan Changjiang Ship Machinery Factory (China Ship Machinery Company), hereinafter referred to as "463". 1984, Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology resumed operation. From 65438 to 0998, Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology officially changed its name, and gradually formed a school-running mode with specialty as the main body and undergraduate as the main body.
