In the last ten years, South China University of Technology has experienced three presidents: Professor Li Yuanyuan, a graduate student majoring in casting in South China University of Technology, has been engaged in the applied foundation and engineering research of powder metallurgy and non-ferrous alloy material preparation and forming theory and technology for a long time. At the age of 49, he became the president and academician of China Academy of Engineering.
Professor Wang Yingjun: Graduated from South China University of Technology with a bachelor's degree, and has been engaged in basic research and engineering of biomaterials for a long time. At the age of 53, he became the president and academician of China Academy of Engineering.
Professor Gao Song: Graduated from Peking University. His research interests are coordination chemistry and molecular magnetism. At the age of 54, he became the president and academician of China Academy of Sciences.
In the past ten years, the president of South China University of Technology has the following similarities: "Academician-level" professor, young and strong, with a distinguished resume.
Therefore, South China University of Technology has higher requirements for principals and needs to be "carefully selected". This is also the reason why I think South China University of Technology has no principal so far.
