Tsinghua University, referred to as "Tsinghua" for short, is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and directly under the central government. Joined the "2 1 1 Project", "985 Project", "World-class University, First-class Discipline" and was selected into the "Experimental Plan for Training Top Students in Basic Discipline".

"University Innovation Ability Enhancement Plan" and "University Discipline Innovation Introduction Plan" are members of nine major alliances, China University Presidents Association, East Asian Research University Association, Asian University Alliance, Pacific Rim University Alliance and Tsinghua-Cambridge-MIT Low-carbon University Alliance, and are known as "the cradle of red engineers".

Tsinghua University's predecessor, Tsinghua Academy, was founded in 19 1 1. It was named after Shui Mu Tsinghua University. It was a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the Qing government, and the founding funds came from 1908, when the United States returned part of boxer indemnity. 19 12 was renamed Tsinghua school.

1928 changed its name to National Tsinghua University. 1937 after the full-scale outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it moved south to Changsha and formed the National Changsha Temporary University with Peking University and Nankai University. /kloc-moved to Kunming in 0/938 and changed its name to National Southwest Associated University.

1946 moved back to Tsinghua campus. People's Republic of China (PRC) was founded 1949, and Tsinghua University entered a new stage of development.

From 65438 to 0952, China's universities were reorganized into multidisciplinary industrial universities. Starting from 1978, it gradually recovered and developed into a comprehensive research university. ?
