On the basis of the merger of the Music Department of Hubei Institute of Education and the music major of private China University, it was officially named the Music Department of Huazhong Normal University in 1953, with Lu as the department head, and the department was located outside Tanhualin, Wuchang County (now Hubei Academy of Fine Arts). 1958 The Music Department moved to Jiefang Road (now Wuhan Conservatory of Music) and merged with the former Central South Conservatory of Music.
