The first is high level. The reconstruction of Tsinghua's history discipline depends largely on the introduction of talents, while Tsinghua has the conditions to select outstanding talents nationwide, so as to re-establish a high-level historical team in a relatively short period of time. At present, Li Xueqin, Liao Mingchun and Zhao Ping Anhe are the leaders in the study of unearthed documents and pre-Qin history, the leaders in the study of ancient ritual and music civilization and Confucian classics, the leaders in the study of metaphysics in Wei and Jin Dynasties, Ge, Zhang Guogang and Hou Xudong in the study of medieval history and social history, Qin Gui in the study of peasant history and peasant studies, and Li Bozhong and Chen Zhengping in the study of economic history. The historical theory led by He Zhaowu and Liu Bei, the research on the history of modern western thoughts, and the research on the history of modern political and academic thoughts in China led by Liu Guisheng are in the leading position at home and abroad.
The second is internationalization. Historians in Tsinghua have extensive and close ties with foreign academic circles. Many professors have worked in famous universities in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Australia and South Korea, and published many academic monographs abroad and in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Many young and middle-aged teachers have foreign doctoral degrees or long-term study abroad experience. The third is multidisciplinary integration. Tsinghua's historiography inherited and carried forward the fine tradition of "combining historiography with social science" in old Tsinghua, and gradually highlighted the academic characteristics of "linking ancient and modern times, converging Chinese and Western cultures, and infiltrating arts and sciences", showing a great academic atmosphere and a good development trend.
