The treatment is good. Nearly 30 cities in China are building subways and light rails, and there is a great demand for graduates every year, which can be considered. In addition, the railway locomotive and rolling stock specialty participated in the "Excellent Engineer Training Plan" initiated by the Ministry of Education on 20 1 1.

Setting up an international class for mechanical engineering and automation specialty is one of the important measures for Beijing Jiaotong University to implement the strategy of internationalization of education. On September 20 10, students will be selected from freshmen to form the first international class of mechanical engineering and automation, and the concept and teaching mode of international engineering education will be implemented. A group of foreign teachers will be hired to participate in the main courses of the international class of the school, and all the courses will be taught in English, so as to create an international educational environment and atmosphere for the school and cultivate a group of outstanding top-notch engineering talents with international vision, strong practical ability and high comprehensive quality.

The training objectives of international classes are to meet the needs of foreign or multinational companies to develop their business in China, the needs of mature enterprises in China to develop overseas, the needs of China students to study abroad and the needs of foreign students to study in China, and to cultivate internationally competitive China engineering talents and foreign engineering talents who know China's national conditions. International classes will practice internationally accepted training programs and advanced educational concepts, and organize teaching and extracurricular activities to meet the requirements of the future workplace for talents' IQ, EQ, ability and international vision, so as to promote the all-round development of China students.

Beijing Jiaotong University has cooperated with foreign universities to train undergraduates for more than ten years. There are 90 graduates in the seventh session. After studying in Beijing Jiaotong University for one or two years, I went abroad, and finally got two or three degrees at home and abroad, and passed the certification of the National Service Center for Studying Abroad. After graduation, 53 people continued to study or work abroad, and 37 people returned to China. Fifty-three graduates went to work, working in overseas or domestic departments of foreign companies or multinational companies, and some used the resources obtained abroad to start their own companies. There are 65,438+09 people employed abroad and 34 people employed at home. Some of them went on to further their studies after graduation, 18 went abroad to study for a second master's degree, 1 returned to China to study for a master's degree, 17 studied for a doctorate in famous universities in Belgium, the United States, Britain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands, and 1 returned to China to study for a doctorate in Beijing Jiaotong University.

The international education environment created by international classes will lay a good language foundation for students participating in international joint training programs, strengthen students' awareness of communication, hands-on implementation and teamwork, improve students' adaptability to studying abroad, broaden students' international communication channels and enhance their future international competitiveness.

Professional setting of international classes

International classes are based on mechanical engineering and automation, and are open to all majors except orientation students and art majors. The courses of the first and second grades of international classes are mainly based on the basic courses of general engineering of mechanical and electrical engineering, while the courses of mechanical engineering and automation are mainly based on the third and fourth grades, and various teaching activities are carried out in English environment. Students can sign up for international joint training programs after studying for one or two years, and then go to foreign cooperative universities to study their chosen majors. Students can complete their studies for four years in the international education environment of our school, get a degree in mechanical engineering and automation, or participate in international joint training programs at an appropriate stage and choose a suitable major in foreign cooperative universities. Students who meet the requirements of both parties to an international cooperative school can obtain degrees from both parties.

Teaching methods of international classes

The teaching methods of international classes are gradually in line with international standards. The basic courses of science and engineering, professional basic courses and professional courses are mainly taught in English, and the teachers are all foreign teachers and teachers with international study experience in our school. Humanities and social sciences courses are taught in Chinese.

Mode and degree of training international students in our university

The on-campus training plan for international students is based on the current training plan for mechanical engineering and automation specialty of the Ministry of Education and combined with the characteristics of the training plan for engineering specialty in European and American universities. Courses are divided into four categories: general education, science and engineering foundation, professional foundation and professional courses, with a total credit of four years 184.

Students in international classes who do not participate in the international joint training plan will study in full accordance with the training plan of our school. Those who meet the requirements of our school will be awarded a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and automation.

After studying for one or two years, students in international classes can participate in an international joint training program to study abroad, and choose their own professional direction among the optional majors in foreign schools. After meeting the academic requirements of this model, in addition to the corresponding degrees awarded by foreign schools, Beijing Jiaotong University will also award degrees in similar majors.

Students in international classes who want to transfer to other majors can do so in accordance with the relevant regulations of schools and colleges.

International joint training programs that can be continued through international classes.

After studying in our school for one or two years, foreign students can voluntarily choose to participate in the joint training program jointly organized by Beijing Jiaotong University and foreign cooperative universities, and continue to study in the corresponding majors of foreign cooperative universities. The school will award the bachelor's degree of the corresponding major to the school according to the bachelor's degree finally obtained by the students in foreign universities. Because the undergraduate education system of Beijing Jiaotong University is four years, that of American universities is four years, and that of European universities is three years, and the students they face are different, so the international joint training program provides many different training modes, which are different according to the participating projects. There are several modes of international exchange programs suitable for the international class of mechanical engineering and automation:

(1) Belgium 1+3 training mode: 1 undergraduate studies at jiaotong university (freshman), 2 undergraduate studies at Leuven engineering university in Belgium (sophomore and junior) and 1 master studies at foreign universities (graduate one). Students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Leuven University of Engineering and passed the examination will receive a bachelor's degree in engineering from Leuven University of Engineering, and then a master's degree from Leuven University of Engineering or other foreign universities and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University. This model has four years and three degrees, which is suitable for students with intermediate level or above in international classes. In the past, most of the international joint training students in Beijing Jiaotong University chose this mode, 73% of them could finish their studies within four years, and 98% of them could finish their studies within five years.

(2) Belgian 2+2 training mode: 2 years undergraduate study in Jiaotong University (freshman and sophomore) and 2 years undergraduate study in Leuven University of Engineering (especially sophomore and junior). Students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Leuven University of Engineering and passed the examination can obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering from this university and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University. This model can get two degrees in four years, which is suitable for students of general level in international classes. In the past, a small number of international students from Beijing Jiaotong University chose this model.

(3) American 2+2 training mode: two-year undergraduate study in Jiaotong University (freshman and sophomore) and two-year undergraduate study in Auckland University (junior and senior). Students who have completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Auckland and passed the examination can obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University. This model can get two degrees in four years, which is suitable for students of general level in international classes.

(4) Belgium 2+ 1+ 1 Training mode: 2-year undergraduate study in Jiaotong University (freshman and sophomore), 0-year undergraduate study in Leuven University of Engineering in Belgium (junior), and 0-year master study in foreign universities (study 1). Students can get a bachelor's degree in engineering from Leuven University of Engineering after completing their undergraduate studies and passing the examination, and then they can get a master's degree from Leuven University of Engineering or other foreign universities and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University. This model can get three degrees in four years, which can reduce the cost of studying abroad for one year compared with the model 1, but the study intensity after going abroad is very strong, which is suitable for outstanding students in international classes.

(5) American 1+2+ 1 Training Mode: "1+2+ 1 China-US Talent Training Plan" has 100 Chinese and American universities, of which 82 are in China and 82 are in Beijing Jiaotong University. According to the training mode of the project, students can study in Jiaotong University 1 year (freshman), then study in one of American 18 universities for two years (sophomore and junior), and then return to Jiaotong University for one year (senior). Students who pass the exam can obtain two bachelor's degrees in China and the United States according to relevant regulations. This model can get two degrees in four years, which is suitable for students of general level in international classes. American universities participating in this project include Troy University, Bauer State University, George Mei Sen University, northern arizona university, University of North Carolina at pembroke, East Washington University, California State University at San Bernardino, etc.

At present, the brief introduction and corresponding requirements of the international joint training project of Beijing Jiaotong University, which can be continued by international classes, are shown in the attached table.

The enrollment scale and registration procedure of the first international class

The first international class plans to recruit 30 students, selected from the freshmen who have been admitted to the school on 20 10. Students' English level accounts for a large proportion when choosing courses by voluntary registration and merit-based admission. Registration for international classes will be conducted through the Internet. Freshmen can open the international class registration window to register after finding the admission information on our school's enrollment information network (), and the network will automatically generate the registration form. Freshmen download and print the registration form, and submit it to the registration office of the College of Mechanical and Electronic Control Engineering on the day of registration to complete the registration process. Freshmen who are inconvenient to surf the Internet or print can also fill in the registration form at the registration site of Beijing Jiaotong University. The deadline for registration is the last day of registration 16:00.

Eligible students are requested to register online as much as possible and print in advance to reduce the processing and waiting time on the day of registration.

Students in the international class will be selected from the freshmen of grade 20 10 in all majors of the whole school. Candidates who want to enter the international class only need to fill in the college entrance examination volunteers normally. First, make sure that they can be admitted to Beijing Jiaotong University, and then start the international class registration process after they are officially admitted to our school.

The student registration process of the first international class is as follows:

1. Check information: check the admission information of Beijing Jiaotong University and the registration information of international classes.

2. Online registration: Open the online registration window to fill in the registration information, and submit it after verification.

3. Download and print: the system will automatically generate the registration form according to the online registration information, and download and print the registration form after checking it.

4. Submit the form for confirmation: submit the form for confirmation when registering in the school, complete the registration and prepare for the selection test.

Student selection procedure of the first international class

The selection process of the first international class is divided into primary selection, re-examination and interview. The primary election is based on the results of college entrance examination and English single subject, and no extra test is required. Students who pass the primary election can take part in the second interview and interview. The second interview will be based on the results of the English level test organized by the school after the freshmen report for duty, and there will be no other examination. The interview content is mainly oral English and comprehensive understanding and expression ability. The interview will be held separately and the time will be arranged after the second interview. Please pay attention to the notice at that time. According to the results of re-examination and interview, the list of students selected for the international class is finally determined, and the students selected for the international class will be transferred from the school to the international class of mechanical engineering and automation specialty.

Students who are not selected for the international class will still study according to the major on the admission notice, and will not be affected.

The process of selecting students for the first international class is as follows:

1. Primary selection: After the students submit the application form, the school will make a preliminary screening according to the results of college entrance examination and English single subject.

2. Re-examination: Students will take the English Test at the specified time and place after entering the school.

3. Interview: Each candidate participates in the interview according to the time and place of his interview notice.

4. Announce the results: The school assessment team will announce the results of international class selection within the specified time.

5. Changing majors or classes: students are admitted to go through the formalities of changing majors or classes according to the regulations of the school.

Learning expenses of the first international class

The tuition fee for the first international class is 5500 yuan per year, and the cost of studying abroad will be implemented according to the requirements of foreign universities in the joint training program. Students who plan to go abroad for joint training at an appropriate time need to consider the extra expenses incurred by studying abroad as soon as possible. Roughly estimate the living expenses of studying abroad: projects in Belgium need about 654.38+million yuan each year, and projects in the United States need about 200,000 yuan each year.
