There is no Kunming Normal University in Kunming, only Yunnan Normal University, which is in Kunming. The school covers an area of 3,300 mu and consists of 24 colleges, 2 independent colleges and 29 affiliated and cooperative primary and secondary schools and kindergartens.

The school has more than 32,000 full-time doctors, masters and undergraduates, and more than 6000 adult continuing education students/kloc-0. The library has 3,750,400 paper documents and 88,000 e-book platforms1/kloc-0.

There are 87 undergraduate majors in the school, including 15 national first-class disciplines, 22 provincial first-class disciplines, 3 national first-class undergraduate majors and 15 provincial first-class undergraduate majors.

There are five post-doctoral research stations, six first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 1 doctoral degree authorization points, 26 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, and 17 master degree authorization points. It is one of the first batch of 24 pilot universities in China to recruit and train postgraduate students in Chinese international education.
