School profile: Guangdong Vocational College of Literature and Art, referred to as "Guangwenyi" for short, is the only vocational college in the National Federation of Literary and Art Circles, located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. It is a public comprehensive art college and one of the nine major projects to build a cultural province in Guangdong.
The predecessor of the College was the South China People's Literature and Art College founded by Marshal Ye Jianying in March 1950, and its name was inscribed by President Mao Zedong. 1985, renamed South China Amateur University of Arts and Sciences; 1995 was renamed as South China Adult Literature and Art College, with Vice Minister of Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles as Dean; It was named Guangdong Vocational College of Literature and Art in 2004.
