The first China University Women's Football League kicked off in Shandong University on September 6th, 2003. In 2003, the women's football team of China Women's University, represented by the women's football team of Beijing Normal University, won the third place in the women's football competition of the 2003 Universiade held in South Korea, while the China team jointly formed by Xuzhou Normal University and Hohai University won the second place in the 2005 World Universiade.
