History of Northwestern Polytechnical University:
Northwest Institute of Technology 1938, National Beiyang Institute of Technology (now Tianjin University), Private Jiaozuo Institute of Technology (now China University of Mining and Technology), Peking University Institute of Technology and National Northeastern University Institute of Technology (now Northeastern University) established the National Northwest Institute of Technology in Hanzhong.
1946, moved to Xianyang. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, Beiyang Institute of Technology, Northeastern University Institute of Technology and Jiaozuo Institute of Technology successively moved out to resume their studies, while the teachers and students of Peiping University Institute of Technology and three other schools remained in the National Northwest Institute of Technology.
1950, renamed Northwest Institute of Technology. Northwestern Polytechnical University was formed by the merger of Northwestern Polytechnic University and Yuan 'an Aviation College in June 1957 and June 10. 1970 the air force engineering department of China PLA military engineering college was merged into northwestern polytechnical university? .
