China Communication University, referred to as "Zhongchuan", located in Beijing, is an industry-specific university in the field of information and communication directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national "double first-class" construction university, a national "2 1 1 engineering" key construction university and a national "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform" construction university.
National "11/plan", "National Postgraduate Program for High-level University Construction", "National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program", Asian Campus, selected universities, sponsors of the International Media Higher Education Alliance, UNESCO Chair in Media and Women, and China Government Scholarship for Foreign Students in China.
The school's predecessor was the training course for technicians of the Central Broadcasting Bureau, which was founded in 1954. 1958 was renamed Beijing Broadcasting Institute. 1959 approved by the State Council, the school was upgraded to Beijing Broadcasting Institute. In 2000, it was transferred from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television to the Ministry of Education. In 200 1 year, it was identified as the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university.
In 2002, China University of Mining and Technology Beijing Campus (formerly Beijing Coal Management Cadre College) East Campus was merged into Beijing Broadcasting Institute. In September 2004, it was renamed China Communication University.
