The launching ceremony of Shenzhen University's Spring Festival Gala and 40th Anniversary Celebration was held in Yuehai Campus. As a university named after the city, Shenzhen University was founded in 1983 and has been sharing the same fate with Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Mao Junfa said that a history of Shenzhen University is a vivid microcosm and true portrayal of Shenzhen people's pioneering and innovative. Shenzhen University has been running for 40 years, creating "deep speed" and "deep innovation" on the map of higher education in China.

Tu Huilong said that since its establishment, Shenzhen University has always been in step with the reform and development of the SAR, and has become the pioneer and experimental field of the reform and development of higher education in China with the spirit of "being the best in the world", making important contributions to the development of the SAR and the modernization of the country.
