Lanzhou Jiaotong University, located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is a university jointly established by China Railway Corporation, State Railway Administration and Gansu Provincial People's Government.
Tianjin University, Beijing Jiaotong University and Southwest Jiaotong University supported universities, and the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" was selected as a university, and the Ministry of Education's "Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform Model School".
The "Central and Western Education Revitalization Plan" of the Ministry of Education supports universities, high-level universities in Gansu Province and "first-class disciplines" to build universities. The historical origin of the school can be traced back to the Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Official School established in 1896 and the Beijing Railway Management Institute established in 1909.
Established by Tangshan Railway Institute (now Southwest Jiaotong University) and Beijing Railway Institute (now Beijing Jiaotong University) in May 1958, and moved to Lanzhou. From June 65438 to June 0959, the school was designated as a key university by the Ministry of Railways.
196 1 April, the school was listed as a key institution of higher learning of the Ministry of Railways. In 2000, the system of "co-construction of the central and local governments, with local government management as the mainstay" was implemented. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Lanzhou Railway Institute was renamed Lanzhou Jiaotong University.
