Brief introduction of Southeast Asian Language and Culture College of Yunnan University for Nationalities
Southeast Asia Language and Culture College is one of the most distinctive, promising and prestigious colleges in Yunnan University for Nationalities. Its predecessor was the Southeast Asian Language and Literature Department, which was founded in 1997+0. Prior to this, in order to adapt to the economic development and opening up of Yunnan Province and cultivate Southeast Asian language talents, in September, 1993 was approved by the Provincial Department of Education, and Yunnan University for Nationalities formally established two specialized classes, Thai and Burmese. 1997 added a Vietnamese junior college class. From 65438 to 0998, Thai, Burmese and Vietnamese were upgraded from junior colleges to four-year undergraduate courses with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2002, an undergraduate major in Laos was added. By 2003, two undergraduates had graduated, namely Thai, Burmese and Vietnamese. Graduates have a high employment rate and a wide distribution of destinations.
