As the central organ of the Communist Youth League, China Youth Daily has always taken "promoting social progress and serving the growth of young people" as its running purpose and "emancipating the mind, reforming and innovating" as its driving force. On May 25th, 2008, under the guidance of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Education, China Youth Daily and 63 key universities in China initiated the establishment of China University Media Alliance. Its purpose is to build a platform for college campus media to exchange, appreciate, improve and benefit from each other. As of July 27th, 20 10, 2 10 universities have joined, with 420 directors (propaganda ministers and secretary of the Youth League Committee of each university). The registered members of China School Media Network, which was opened at the same time as the establishment of the Alliance, have reached more than 5 million, and the daily PV value has reached19.95 million. In addition, media alliances of local universities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shanghai, Henan, Guangdong and Shaanxi have been established one after another, which has become an important part of media alliances of Chinese universities.

Since its establishment, China University Media Alliance has successfully held a series of activities such as "Dialogue with the World", "Tianyi Plan, College Students' Employment and Entrepreneurship Experience Action", "School Media Journalists Watch NPC CPPCC", "School Media Journalists Visit Village Officials", "Challenge Cup Joint Report" and "Starting a Business in Chengdu-Looking for Business Heroes Around". As well as activities such as "Selection of College Student Journalists Registered for Shanghai World Expo 20 10", "Selection of College Student Journalists Registered for Guangzhou Asian Games 20 10" and "China Industrial and Commercial Bank Financial Knowledge Lecture Hall".
