Master of Translation and Interpretation (MTI) is a national professional degree education approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee.

In 2007, the number of the first batch of MTI pilot teaching units approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee was 15, including Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Fudan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Hunan Normal University, PLA Foreign Studies College, Nanjing University, Nankai University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai International Studies University, Tongji University, Xiamen University, Southwest University, Central South University and Sun Yat-sen University.
