Henan University of Science and Technology, referred to as "Hekeda University", is located in Luoyang, the "Millennium Imperial Capital, Peony Flower City" and the sub-central city of the Central Plains urban agglomeration. It is a university jointly established by the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau and the People's Government of Henan Province, and it is a key university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of the country.
The excellent university evaluated by the Ministry of Education is also one of the three comprehensive universities in Henan Province, a national demonstration university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and a national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel.
The school 1952 was established in Beijing, the capital. 1956, in order to meet the needs of the construction and layout of the national industrial base, it was moved to Luoyang, and later renamed Luoyang Institute of Technology, which belongs to the Ministry of Machinery Industry.
1998, transferred to Henan province for management. In 2002, in order to optimize the structural layout of higher education in Henan Province, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government reported to the Ministry of Education for approval, and Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical College and Luoyang Agricultural College merged to form Henan University of Science and Technology.
