1. There are two 985 universities in Guangzhou, namely Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology.

Second, Sun Yat-sen University

It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, directly under the central government, and jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and Guangdong Province. Ranked in the first batch of national "double-class" A-level, "985 Project" and "21/project". It has become a first-class modern comprehensive university in China and internationally renowned, and is striving to become a global academic center.

Third, South China University of Technology

South China University of Technology is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. The National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Ministry of Education jointly build a university, which is one of the first batch of key construction universities in "World-class University", "Project 21"and "Project 985". They are good at work, the combination of science and engineering, management, economy and literature.

South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China University of Technology, can be traced back to a class of industrial schools in Guangdong Province, and was established in 19 1952. 1952 was formally established, and was transferred to Hunan University, Zhonghua University in Wuchang, Wuhan Jiaotong University and Guangdong Institute of Technology on the basis of engineering departments and majors of Sun Yat-sen University, South China United University Institute of Technology and Lingnan University Institute of Technology. 1960 became a national key university; 1988 was renamed South China University of Technology.
