(1) Inner Mongolia Normal University, founded in 1952, is the earliest institution of higher learning established by the party and the state in the frontier minority areas after the founding of New China, a key university in the autonomous region, and a comprehensive normal university with distinctive features in normal education and ethnic education. After several generations of hard work and practical exploration, it has become an important base for training basic education and ethnic education teachers and compound talents of Mongolian and Han minorities in the autonomous region. It is also a training center for middle school teachers, a continuing education center for primary and secondary school teachers, and a research center for the reform and development of basic education and ethnic education in the autonomous region. The school is also a national and autonomous regional education and training base for environment and sustainable development, a national social sports instructor training base, a national sculpture research center in the autonomous region, a professional art creation base and a humanities and social science popularization base. It is also the training base for all kinds of sports professionals in the autonomous region, Mongolian sports talents in eight provinces and autonomous regions, ethnic music talents in northern China and artistic design education talents in the autonomous region, and is praised by the society as the "cradle of ethnic education".
