There are no 985 universities in Henan Province, only 2 1 1 universities, namely Zhengzhou University. It is the only national "2 1 1 Project" key construction university in Henan Province, which is jointly built by the People's Government of Henan Province and the Ministry of Education.

The new Zhengzhou University was formed by the merger of Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of Technology and Henan Medical University on July 6, 2000. It is a comprehensive university covering science, engineering, medicine, literature, history, philosophy, law, economics, management, teaching, agriculture, arts and other disciplines 12, and it is the only national "26438+02" in Henan Province.

There are 46 departments in the school headquarters, with 1 14 undergraduate majors. At present, the school has 4 national teaching teams, 6 national famous teachers, 6 national professional comprehensive reform pilot majors, 4 national specialty 14, international engineering education certification specialty 1 1, 5 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 6 national virtual simulation experiment centers 1, and 7 national engineering practice education centers.

There are four national excellent resource courses 14, two national bilingual teaching demonstration courses, two national excellent online open courses, two national innovative experimental areas of talent training mode, one national scientific basic research and teaching talent training base 1, one national college students' cultural quality education base 1, and two national off-campus practice education bases, and they have won nine national teaching achievement awards.
