In 2005, the state formally established the undergraduate major of asset appraisal in colleges and universities, and in 20 10, the the State Council Academic Degree Office approved the establishment of graduate students majoring in asset appraisal. In just a few years, the major of asset appraisal has grown into an important major in financial institutions and has been widely welcomed by students.
At present, nearly 20 colleges and universities have set up undergraduate education in appraisal, and 70 colleges and universities have set up postgraduate education in asset appraisal with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
According to Wang Jingda, director of the Department of Assets Appraisal of capital university of economics and business Finance and Taxation College, the statistics of the First Economic and Trade Assets Appraisal Major show that the annual enrollment score of this major is above 70-80, and the quality of students is very good. Moreover, Wang Jingda also felt that students from other majors, even those far away from economics, were very interested in this course, and some students successfully transferred to this major.
Liu Yuping, a professor at the School of Finance of the Central University of Finance and Economics, feels the same way. He said that when the Central University of Finance and Economics first enrolled the Master of Asset Appraisal in 20 10, many people were still holding a wait-and-see attitude, and the major finally enrolled 28 students. In the second year of enrollment, the number of students enrolled in this major increased by about 20, almost doubling.
The enthusiasm of students to apply for evaluation major may be related to the broad employment prospects of this major. Liu Deyun, director of the Department of Assets Appraisal of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, has been teaching this major for many years. He said that the difference between the appraisal industry and accounting and auditing is that the objects of asset appraisal services are very extensive and almost everywhere. An appraiser can't be good at appraising all assets. In order to satisfy students' interest in this major, Shandong University of Finance and Economics offers a variety of courses, including mechanical and electrical equipment evaluation, engineering budget and final accounts, real estate evaluation, enterprise value evaluation, etc., and also offers professional courses such as securities investment evaluation, intangible assets evaluation and antique jewelry evaluation according to students' interests. The offering of these courses not only broadens students' employment, but also enhances their competitive advantage in specific fields.
Good student quality and pragmatic teaching orientation will enable students majoring in evaluation to master the basic theoretical knowledge of evaluation more firmly, understand the theory and practice of evaluation industry earlier, and prepare for the CPV exam in the future. This also reserves the reserve force for the growth of CPV team. At present, China Assets Appraisal Association is also actively studying and promoting the connection between graduate students of assets appraisal degree and CPV examination.
Better teaching quality also makes students majoring in evaluation very popular.
It is understood that at present, the asset appraisal undergraduate major offered by Shandong University of Finance and Economics enrolls two classes each year, with about 50 students in each class. By June this year, the third batch of graduates of this major, that is, the students majoring in asset appraisal in 2008, will also take up their jobs. Among the current distribution of graduates majoring in asset appraisal, banks and other financial departments account for the largest proportion, followed by graduate students majoring in asset appraisal and civil servants.
Take the students in Class 20 10 and Class 20 1 1 in capital university of economics and business as examples. After graduation, 33.3% and 19.4% respectively worked in financial institutions. Students working in enterprises or companies account for 12.5% and13.9% respectively; 8.3% and11.1%of the students working in the evaluation institutions respectively; 29.2% and 36. 1% of the students took the postgraduate entrance examination or went abroad.
? China's asset appraisal professional education has grown from scratch, from the establishment of undergraduate degree to the exploration of asset appraisal personnel training in postgraduate stage, which is very important for the industry to reserve talents. The cultivation of Master of Assets Appraisal is a new subject with a long way to go. We expect the whole society to pay attention to this new thing and do a good job in cultivating the master of asset appraisal. ? Liu Yuping said.
