In May, the meeting was held again, and Wei Zhuomin was elected as the president of Huazhong University. Before Wei Zhuomin came back from England, Meng Liang Zuo succeeded him as president. The conference voted to adopt the English name of the school as "Huazhong College".

The delegation will make commitments in terms of teachers and property. In September, Huazhong University reopened. The Department of Mandarin Books is registered with the Ministry of Education of the National Government in the name of a junior college and has the qualification to become an independent school.

On May 1927, the school was temporarily closed due to the current situation. Later, President Meng issued diplomas to the students who should have graduated in June of that year, gave a "D" to the students who insisted on studying at school in May, and sent copies of their transcripts.

1in June, 929, representatives of five churches met in Wuchang and reached an understanding to try their best to rebuild Huazhong University. Yali University in Changsha and Yueyang Lakeside College were formally merged into Huazhong University.
