Beijing Technology and Business University (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Technology and Business University) is a key research university in Beijing, and a doctoral degree awarding unit. It has been selected into the education and training program of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students in China, and the high-tech discipline construction project of Beijing universities.

As a member of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei University Business Collaborative Innovation Alliance, the initiator of the National Regional Financial Forum, and the director of the China Financial Annual Meeting, the first university in China whose major in food science and engineering has passed the international double certification of the American Food Science and Technology Association and the International Food Science and Technology Alliance, is a multidisciplinary university with economy, management and engineering as the mainstay, science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law and art supporting each other and developing harmoniously.

By April 2020, the school has 2 post-doctoral research stations, 2 doctoral programs in first-class disciplines, 17 authorized programs for master's degrees in first-class disciplines, and 17 authorized programs for master's degrees. Three disciplines were selected into the list of high-tech disciplines in Beijing universities. According to the results of the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, Beijing Technology and Business University has 14 first-level disciplines to participate in the evaluation.
