The school, formerly Qiushi College, was founded on 1897 and closed on 19 14. 1928 National Zhejiang University was newly established in the former site of Qiushi College. 1937 moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan, and 1946 moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn. From 65438 to 0952, some departments of Zhejiang University were placed under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities, and the main part was reorganized into several universities in Hangzhou, which later developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University.
