Huaqiao University is called People's Republic of China (PRC) National Huaqiao University. It is one of the two universities directly under the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and the other is Jinan University. Our school is a national university at the main hall level, and it is called the National Huaqiao University overseas. Because Huaqiao University has campuses in Quanzhou and Xiamen, there are also folk names of Quanzhou Huaqiao University and Xiamen Huaqiao University, which refer to Quanzhou Campus and Xiamen Campus respectively. The Chinese College of Huaqiao University was formerly Jimei Overseas Chinese Tutorial School, so people often call it Jimei Tutorial School. Therefore, whenever you see such names as National Overseas Chinese University, Overseas Chinese University, Xiamen Overseas Chinese University, Quanzhou Overseas Chinese University, Overseas Chinese University Xiamen Campus, Jimei Tutorial School and Jimei Overseas Chinese Tutorial School, they all refer to our school.
