The National Inspirational Scholarship is jointly established by the central and local governments. It aims to encourage students from poor families in ordinary undergraduate colleges, higher vocational schools and junior colleges to study hard, strive for progress, develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically, and award scholarships to students from poor families with excellent academic performance. The reward standard is 5000 yuan per person per year.

National inspirational scholarships are applied and reviewed by academic year. Students applying for the national inspirational scholarship are sophomores or above. In the same academic year, students who apply for national inspirational scholarships can apply for and receive national grants at the same time, but they cannot get national scholarships at the same time. Colleges and universities will issue a one-time national inspirational scholarship, 165438, to the award-winning students before June 30th every year, and record it in the student status file.
