Brief introduction of Jishou University Teachers College
Jishou University Teachers College is a public secondary college of Jishou University. Approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government on June 8th, 2000/KLOC-0, it was formed by the merger of the former Xiangxi Institute of Ethnic Education (/KLOC-0 was established on April 30th, 980) and Jishou Normal School for Nationalities (/KLOC-0 was established on July 30th, 936). In March, 2007, Jishou University Teachers College was selected by Hunan Provincial Department of Education as the training base for primary school teachers. At present, the college is mainly at the junior college level, and enrolls students in six provinces and regions such as Hunan, Hubei, Hainan, Guizhou, Jiangxi and Guangxi. Full-time students are 273 1 person, and ethnic minority students account for more than 65%. There are 276 faculty members, including full-time teachers 17 1 person, including 65 full-time and associate professors and 80 lecturers. Two foreign teachers and 18 visiting professors were hired.
