Legal analysis: unless it is a political crime, it will have a certain impact on being admitted to military schools and other institutions that need political review. It has no influence on the admission to ordinary colleges and universities, and other crimes have no influence on admission, whether it is military schools or ordinary colleges and universities.

Legal Basis: Citizens who are enlisted for active service in the Provisions on Political Review of Conscription must love the Communist Party of China (CPC), the socialist motherland and the people's army, abide by the law, have good moral character, and be determined to bravely resist aggression, defend the motherland and defend the people's peaceful labor. Citizens under any of the following circumstances shall not be enlisted for active service:

(1) Spreading politically incorrect remarks and writing, editing, publishing or publishing politically incorrect words or works;

(2) Having been subjected to criminal punishment, reeducation through labor, asylum education or administrative detention;

Those who were over 14 and under 16 at the time of committing the crime are not subject to criminal punishment according to law, or those who committed serious illegal acts before 18 are not serious enough for criminal punishment;

(3) Being under investigation for being suspected of violating discipline and law, or being investigated, prosecuted or tried;

(4) Being expelled from public office, ordered to resign, expelled from school, expelled from the Party, kept on probation, or expelled from the Party for serious mistakes;

(5) Tattoos showing signs of criminal gangs of underworld nature, which are detrimental to the national image and social morality;

(6) Having close ties with people with complex political backgrounds abroad and being politically suspicious.

Article 26 of the People's Police Law of the People's Republic of China shall meet the following conditions:

(1) Persons who have reached the age of 18;

(2) Supporting the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC);

(3) Having good political and professional qualities and good conduct;

(4) Being in good health;

(5) Having graduated from high school or above;

(6) Volunteering in the work of the people's police.

One of the following circumstances, shall not serve as the people's police:

(1) Having received criminal punishment for committing a crime;

(2) Being expelled from public office.
