At present, the college has the departments of Basic Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Information and Computing Science, Probability and Statistics Science, Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Computing Science, Mathematics Research Institute (approved by the Ministry of Education 1980) and Public Mathematics Teaching and Research Center. 20 13, approved the establishment of "Wuhan university mathematics collaborative innovation center". 199 1 College was approved to establish the first batch of national basic science research and teaching talent training bases-Wuhan University Mathematics Base, which was rated as a national excellent base in 2002. In 2009, the specialty of undergraduate mathematics and applied mathematics was approved by the Ministry of Education as "the construction point of undergraduate specialty in ordinary colleges and universities", and on 20/0/0, it was approved to set up the national experimental plan for cultivating top-notch students in basic disciplines-"Hongyi School" mathematics of Wuhan University.

Undergraduate students are now enrolled according to the major categories of mathematics, and after one year, they will enter the basic mathematics class, information and computing science specialty, mathematics and applied mathematics specialty (including financial mathematics) and statistics specialty respectively. College 1978 began to recruit master students, 198 1 year began to recruit doctoral students, 1999 was approved as a doctoral degree authorization point for mathematics first-class disciplines, and 201year was approved as a doctoral degree authorization point for statistics first-class disciplines; 1987, approved the establishment of mathematics postdoctoral mobile station.
