Gansu Teachers College for Nationalities is located in Hezuo City, the capital of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, at the junction of Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan provinces. The school was founded in 1984, formerly known as Cooperative Teachers College for Nationalities. In 2009, it was transformed into an undergraduate college. It was founded by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Gansu Provincial People's Government, and it is the only provincial-level normal college for nationalities in Gansu Province.
After nearly 40 years of school development, the school has gradually formed a professional group with "ethnic normal education, Chinese culture, plateau ecology and ethnic regional economy" as the main body, covering education, science, literature, law, history, art and other disciplines 10.
