Ludong university, founded in 1930, is located in Yantai, the "Best Charming City in China". It is an applied, international and distinctive comprehensive university. It has disciplinary advantages in the fields of Chinese language education, applied psychology, life science, ship and ocean engineering.

Schools adapt to the development trend of globalization, adhere to open education, international exchanges are increasingly frequent, and cooperation in running schools is diverse. The school is one of the first batch of 200 universities with the qualification to accept foreign students announced by the former State Education Commission, and it is also one of the test sites of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) and Business Chinese Proficiency Test (BCT) approved by Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters). It has established friendly exchanges and cooperative relations with 82 universities or institutions in Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, Australia, Canada, France and other countries.

Ludong university is a provincial comprehensive university with literature, science, industry and agriculture as the main body and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. At present, there are 34 correspondence books and college enrollment majors.
