The freshman course of Jilin University consists of two parts: public courses and professional courses. When I was a freshman, there were more public courses (compared with sophomore, three quarters), such as English and politics, microcomputer and so on. Students from all departments and majors are required to participate. Specialized courses are set according to the characteristics of each department and major. Freshmen are basically professional basic courses, compulsory courses and core courses. If the majors are not similar, such courses may be very different. Among the freshman courses, there are still more specialized courses than public courses. Therefore, differences are still possible. There is also a public elective course offered by the whole school. Of course, you only need to take it if you choose.
