Wuhan University
Wuhan University, referred to as "Wu Da" for short, is a national key comprehensive research university located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Its origin dates back to the late Qing Dynasty (1893), and Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang, founded the School of Self-improvement at the invitation of the Qing government. It is the earliest national university established in modern China with a history of 100 years.
19 13 At that time, it was the national Wuchang Higher Normal School, one of the six normal universities in China. 1926 was renamed as National Second Sun Yat-sen University, and 1928 was renamed as National Wuhan University. It is one of the four famous schools in the Republic of China. 1949 changed its name to Wuhan University, which is still in use today.
Wuhan University is a vice-ministerial national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. The first batch of national key universities are "Double First Class", "985 Project", "2 1 1 Project" and "201/Plan". At the same time, it is a domestic first-class university that is focused on "11plan", "Everest plan", "Thousand Talents Plan" and "Excellence Plan". It is the most closely linked and widely cooperated university between China and French universities, and it is also one of the "most outstanding universities in China" listed by the world authoritative journal Science. ?
