The emblem of Sun Yat-sen University is a circular pattern. The upper part of the emblem rises from left to right around the full name of the Chinese school name standard, and the lower part rises from left to right around the full name of the English school name standard, with a begonia-style hole and window pattern in the middle. The cave and window design is based on Danqing, the landmark building of National Guangdong University, and uses the artistic conception of China gardens and modern design techniques.
The word "Zhongshan" is combined with the shape of the Haitang cave window and the big bell tower in the garden. The trees on both sides of the cave window form a far-reaching space from big to small, which enhances the layering and three-dimensional sense. The arc in the middle skillfully forms a red cotton, which means that Sun Yat-sen University is located in Lingnan area.
