Nanjing Normal University, referred to as Nanjing Normal University for short, is located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. It was co-founded by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China People and Ministry of Education.

It is one of the first national "2 1 1 Project" key construction universities, world-class discipline construction universities and high-level university construction universities in Jiangsu Province. It has been selected into the National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, the Academic Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Program for Colleges and Universities, the National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, and the Demonstration Base for Studying in China by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the birthplaces of higher normal education in China.

I. Historical evolution

Nanjing Normal University is a national "double-class" construction university and a high-level university construction university in Jiangsu Province. The main source of the school can be traced back to Sanjiang Normal School founded in 1902, which is one of the birthplaces of higher normal education in China.

After that, it went through Liangjiang Excellent Normal School, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University, National Fourth Sun Yat-sen University, Jiangsu University, National Central University and National Nanjing University. Its other source is Huiwen Academy founded by 1888, which later developed into Jinling University. 195 1 merged with Jinling Women's College of Arts and Sciences (formerly known as Jinling Women's University) to form a public Jinling University.

1952 National college departments were adjusted, and Nanjing Normal University was established on the basis of the former Nanjing University, public Jinling University and other related departments, and the school site was located in the former Jinling Women's University.

1984 was transformed into Nanjing Normal University. 1996 entered the national "2 1 1 engineering" universities. In 2000, Nanjing University of Electric Power merged. 20 15 became a university jointly established by Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education. 20 17 was selected as a "double first-class" construction university in China.
