Qingdao University of Science and Technology, formerly known as Qingdao Institute of Chemical Technology, formerly known as Shenyang Light Industry Higher Vocational School, was founded in September 1950. /kloc-0 moved to Qingdao in August, 1956 and changed its name to Qingdao Rubber Industry School. /kloc-0 was established as Shandong institute of chemical technology in September 1958, and/kloc-0 was renamed as Qingdao institute of chemical technology in September 1984. The school has two campuses: the school is located in Qingdao Shilaoren National Tourism Resort, and the school has the right to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. It is the first batch of schools in China to obtain the right to award bachelor's degrees and the third batch of schools in China to obtain the right to award master's degrees. At present, there are 56 undergraduate majors, 5 first-class disciplines, 49 master's programs, 7 doctoral programs and 2 postdoctoral mobile stations. It has 3 key laboratories and engineering technology research centers of the Ministry of Education, 2 provincial key disciplines (laboratories) 12, 5 provincial engineering technology research centers, 4 provincial key disciplines (laboratories), 3 municipal key laboratories, 2 municipal engineering technology research centers and 3 municipal industry technical support centers. The discipline construction of the school has formed its own distinctive characteristics in materials science, chemical engineering, applied chemistry, mechanical engineering, information and control engineering and so on.
