The National University Science Park of Shandong University was founded in 200 1, which is the first batch of national university science parks approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. National University Science Park of Shandong University is divided into two parts: Pioneer Park and Industrial Park. In May 2009, Jining Branch Park was established in Jining University Science Park. Shanda Science Park has now formed a model national university science park with complete functions, standardized management, distinctive features and outstanding advantages.
