Nantong University, referred to as "Tongda" for short, is a comprehensive university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Transport, a member of 15 key universities in Jiangsu Province, and a pilot university of "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Program". The history of the school can be traced back to the private Nantong Medical College and Nantong Textile College founded by Mr. Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist and educator in modern times, on 19 12. The school is one of the first units in China with the right to award master's degrees, and it is the birthplace of the typical spirit of "Mo Wensui" in spiritual civilization construction.
