Tsinghua University was founded in 19 1 1, formerly known as "Tang Xue, Tsinghua", as a preparatory school for students sent by the government to study in American universities. The school was renamed "Tsinghua School" on 19 12. The undergraduate department was established in 1925, and then enrolled undergraduates. 1928 adopted the name of "National Tsinghua University", and 1929 established the research institute.
