Hubei University for Nationalities is a provincial general undergraduate college with undergraduate education approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a provincial key construction university and a university jointly established by the provincial government and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. The school is located in the magical and beautiful Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. It is adjacent to Jingchu in the east, Xiaoxiang in the south, Chongqing and Guizhou in the west and Shaanxi and Chongqing in the north. The campus is surrounded by mountains and waters, which complements the beautiful scenery of Longdong River. The history of Hubei University for Nationalities can be traced back to 1938, when the Li Lianzhong Rural Normal Branch was established, and then it was changed to the Seventh Normal School of Hubei Province; 1950, when it was renamed as Enshi Normal School; 1978, when Enshi Normal College was established. 1984 Approved by the former State Education Commission, the University of Western Hubei was established on the basis of Enshi Normal University. 1989 was admitted by the former State Education Commission and named Hubei Institute for Nationalities, becoming an ordinary undergraduate college. Enshi Medical College was founded in 1958, and started medical undergraduate education in 1977. 1998 With the approval of the Ministry of Education, Hubei University for Nationalities and Enshi Medical College merged to form a new Hubei University for Nationalities. 20 18 1 1 Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Hubei Institute for Nationalities.
