Henan University of Science and Technology (HAUST)

HAUST, located in Luoyang City, Henan Province, is a university jointly established by the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Henan Province. The basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China focuses on supporting universities, the national demonstration universities for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel, and the governing universities of the Silk Road University Alliance.

It is one of the first batch of bases for the transformation and technology transfer of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities by the Ministry of Education, and one of the three high-level comprehensive universities under key construction in Henan Province.

The school 1952 was established in Beijing, the capital. 1956, in order to meet the needs of the construction and layout of the national industrial base, it was moved to Luoyang, and later renamed Luoyang Institute of Technology, which belongs to the Ministry of Machinery Industry. 1998, transferred to Henan province for management.

In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government merged Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical College and Luoyang Agricultural College to form Henan University of Science and Technology.
