Hunan Normal University, formerly the National Teachers College founded by 1938, is a national "2 1 1 engineering" key university, a national "double-first-class" construction university, a "double-first-class" construction university focused on by the Ministry of Education and Hunan Province, an excellent university for undergraduate teaching level evaluation in ordinary colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and a "world-class discipline construction" in Hunan Province.

Graduate students enrolled by Hunan Normal University in 2023 are divided into full-time graduate students and part-time graduate students according to their learning methods, among which full-time graduate students are divided into academic graduate students and professional graduate students.

Full-time academic postgraduate majors include tourism geography (0705J2), tourism management (120203), hotel management (1202Z 1), exhibition communication (0503J4), and full-time professional postgraduate enrollment majors include vocational and technical education (0451).

Part-time graduate students only enroll two professional degrees: Tourism Management (125400) and Vocational and Technical Education (045 120). The number of students enrolled is implemented according to the plan issued by the Graduate School of Hunan Normal University. The majors of tourism geography, exhibition and communication do not accept exemption, while the majors of tourism management, hotel management and vocational and technical education accept exemption.
