Many people often hear the word "film review" and read similar articles. First of all, it is stated that film criticism is not only some comments written after watching a movie, but also a brief introduction to the plot of the movie. If you vote for a film review and briefly introduce the plot, I believe you will be rejected by the editor. Watching movies is a prerequisite. It is important to debate with readers after watching the movie and share your unique views. For example, after watching The Shawshank Redemption, I summed up six essentials. We should write out what we have learned and given us after watching this film, and then draw out our views and opinions step by step through the description of the classic fragments in the film. So what we call film criticism is to summarize our views and opinions through the description of the plot.
The reason why film reviews are difficult to write.
Many small whites write reviews when writing film reviews, which is a misunderstanding of us. The analysis of film and television works is a literary criticism, which belongs to the category of argumentative writing and focuses on objective theoretical analysis and discussion. When writing, you should be indifferent, restrain your feelings and "literary talent", and pay attention to organization and logic. The formula should be "This shot is ... what the film critics want to write is what the film mainly expresses and what means it uses, focusing on the evaluation of artistic forms. The former requires to stick to the theme and express feelings in connection with reality, while the latter requires to stick to the characteristics of creation and analyze its expression effect and how its form serves the content. In short, the so-called film criticism is to tell the doorway of your work from an "expert" perspective.
Film criticism should have a framework.
I believe everyone who has studied argumentative writing knows that argumentative writing should have three parts: argumentation, argumentation and conclusion, and so does film criticism. The beginning is to ask questions, which is the argumentation part. There should be two meanings. One is the object of analysis, and the other is the overall evaluation of this work, that is, the central argument of the full text is put forward. In the middle is the subject, which is to ask questions, that is, the argumentation part. It is necessary to analyze the success of this film and what creative experience it has. It is suggested to talk about the advantages of at least three aspects, write a short paragraph in each aspect and extract a comment in each aspect. The argument should be incisive, neat and eye-catching. Is the end, is to solve the problem, that is, the conclusion part. This part is very short, mainly to summarize the full text, or point out its shortcomings, or raise hopes, or supplement explanations, or take care of the beginning.
This is a conventional way of writing film and television reviews. Of course, you can master it flexibly and don't be bound by the "framework". But as far as middle school students are concerned, this format is generally more suitable.
