1, introduction of institutions
School of Social Studies of Suzhou University is one of the secondary colleges under Suzhou University. Its predecessor can be traced back to Soochow University. 1953, Jiangsu Normal University offers history courses; 1955, Professor Chai Degeng, a famous historian, was appointed to establish the history department; 1995, the history department was renamed as the Institute of Social Studies.
