Brief introduction of Anhui University of Science and Technology
Anhui University of Science and Technology, located in Huainan City, is a university jointly established by Anhui Province and the Emergency Management Department. The revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province is a "high-level university with local characteristics", the peak discipline construction plan of Anhui Province especially supports universities, and the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities" supports universities. It has been selected into the universities implementing the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, the training and selection base for reserve officers of the China People's Liberation Army, the first batch of demonstration universities in China and the first batch of national universities. The school was founded in 1945, and was later named as Bengbu Senior Industrial Vocational School in Anhui Province in 1947, and then moved to Huainan. In 1949, it was renamed as Anhui Institute of Technology and Huainan Institute of Coal Mine Industry. 1955 school was upgraded to Hefei Mining Institute, 1958 was renamed Hefei University of Technology, 197 1 Mining and coalfield geology major moved back to Huainan, and merged with Huainan Coal School to form Huainan Coal Institute. 198 1, the school was renamed Huainan Mining Institute. 1993, East China Coal Medical College merged. 1997, the school was renamed Huainan Institute of Technology. 1998 The school was placed under the management of Anhui Provincial People's Government by the Ministry of Coal Industry, and the central and local governments were established, with local management as the mainstay. In 2000, Huainan Chemical School merged. In 2002, the school was renamed Anhui University of Science and Technology.
