I. Introduction of Southwest Petroleum University

Southwest Petroleum University, referred to as "Southwest Normal University" for short, has its main campus in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Sichuan and China Oil and Gas Group Co., Ltd., sinopec group and China Offshore Oil Group Co., Ltd.; It is a national "double-class" construction university.

It was selected into the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions, the national "1 1 plan", the national "key discipline project with characteristics", the national public graduate program for building high-level universities, the national demonstration base for cultivating innovative talents, and the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Second, the university's two characteristic projects

Southwest Petroleum University has two specialized talent training programs, namely, the overseas teacher funding program of Benshuobo and the continuing training program of Benshuobo. This doctoral and master's overseas teacher funding program was set up by the school to train excellent teachers. The selected students can stay in school after receiving their doctoral degrees, and get tuition remission during their studies at school, and get scholarships ranging from 500,000 to 300,000 per year during their study abroad.

From volunteering for the college entrance examination to enrollment, candidates have three opportunities to declare. The master's continuing training plan is implemented for 10 freshmen majoring in oil and gas, geology, machinery and chemical engineering. Eligible students can apply in the first semester after admission. After the selected students meet the training requirements, they can obtain the qualification of studying for master's degree without examination.

First, the teaching staff.

By June, 2023, there were 28 14 teaching and administrative staff, including 359 senior professional technicians and 7 18 deputy senior professional technicians. There are 2 127 full-time teachers, including China Academy of Engineering 1 person, German Academy of Engineering 1 person, 3 effective candidates co-elected by China Academy of Sciences, and national outstanding professional and technical personnel 1 person.

Second, discipline construction

By the end of 10 in 2023, the school had 28 national first-class undergraduate majors, 8 national characteristic majors, 15 engineering certification majors, 28 provincial first-class undergraduate majors, 16 Sichuan characteristic majors, 1 national cultural quality education base for college students,1kl.

Southwest Petroleum University is a high-level graduate program funded by the state. There are 5 first-class disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 29 disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees in two disciplines, 22 disciplines authorized for master's degrees in first-class disciplines and 89 disciplines authorized for master's degrees in two disciplines. There are two doctoral degree authorization points and four master degree authorization points in energy interdisciplinary.
